Val d'Isére is a 'must ski' resort. It is linked with Tignes to create l'Espace Killy, a high altitude domain with an unrivalled snow record from late November until mid-May. With its extensive on and off-piste, Val d'Isére boasts the title of 'The greatest skiing area in Europe, if not the world'. Whilst l'Espace Killy offers good nursery slopes and extensive skiing for intermediates, its tour de force is its off-piste. Val d'Isére is also a good point from which to access the neighbouring resorts of St Foy, La Plagne and Les Arcs. The village dates back to the 11th century, and the best local cheeses can be found in the working Ferme de l'Adroit - a perfect outing for the little ones.

A haven for skiers and non-skiers, Val d'Isére presents innumerable activities. Try your hand at husky sledding, or discover the wonder of diving beneath the ice on Tignes Le Lac.
